Christina (Che) Sun
Economist at NERA Economic Consulting
Welcome! I am an economist at NERA Economic Consulting in Auckland, New Zealand. I received my PhD in Economics from the University of California, Davis in June 2026.
I am an applied microeconomist studying the labor market and public education. My research combines controlled lab experiments with micro-econometric analysis of large administrative datasets, aiming to uncover the cognitive and social mechanisms that contribute to persistent inequality — and to identify the institutional factors that can promote equitable opportunity.
research interests
Behavioral and experimental economics, labor economics, and economics of education.
